Fluming

I’ve really been getting into Flume lately. His mellow electro beats are perfect for that long drive cross country, hitting deep powow on the slopes or just hanging out on your bed watching the rain (or in my case snow) lightly tap on your window. Flume is an award-winning Australian electronic instrumentalist and producer. Check out his collab with fellow artist from dun unda Chet Faker. Yeeaah. RedHead

The International Cold Beat

A local band from southern Alberta, these guys are reminiscent of an age long since past. An age when Rock and Roll was king and shredding ruled all. They remind me of a Hives/Black Keys/Wolfmother (original trio) hybrid. They are having a cd release party at The Ship & Anchor Pub in Calgary on November 12, 2014. Check out this track, albeit a teaser was all I could find, called Hard Land.

Cheers,

RedHead.

Wizards of Auz

This Aussie folk rock group has been making serious waves in the last year. From appearing on Conan to touring the US, Canada and Europe, their smooth folk cords and alluring vocals have enticed people all over the world. These guys are playing at The Gateway Sunday, October 26th. Check out their latest video “Old Town Blues” from their album “Harlequin Dream”.

What is this?

Hi there,

For me, music and travel go together like peanut butter and and pickles. You saw that right, peanut butter and pickles. I believe that music conveys every emotion I feel while on the road. It gives you comfort on those lonely nights camping on a beach, or arriving in a new city. It gets you pumped up for bacchanalian nights of bar and club hopping. It will convey the beauty of that breathtaking sunset as you watch in reverential silence.

Music is literally everywhere that you travel. Whether you are watching an obscure indie band in a back lane bar in Melbourne, watching a free concert in Piazza San Marco, or staying the night with a tribe in the Amazon rainforest. Music can be heard anywhere and everywhere.

These, among many more, are the reasons that I have chose to blog about the two most influential things in my life (apart from my family of course).

Never stop listening. Never stop exploring.

Cheers
